Hasso Lieber (born May 12, 1946 in Witten ) is a German lawyer .

Career

education

From 1952 to 1966 he preferred to attend elementary school and grammar school in the Witten district of Heven or in Herdecke , where he graduated from high school . He then did basic military service in the Bundeswehr until 1968 . As a young socialist, he and members of the Republican Club Witten interrupted an evangelical Christmas service in 1969 to promote peace and raise awareness of the Vietnam War. From 1968 to 1973 Lieber studied law at the Ruhr University Bochum and passed the first state examination in December 1973 . 1974 to 1976 did his legal clerkship . In September 1976, Lieber also passed the second state examination in law.

Between 1976 and 1979 Lieber was a probationary judge at the Bochum Regional Court . From 1979 to 1987 he was a judge at the Bochum District Court . In March 1987 he was seconded to the Hamm Higher Regional Court . From 1989 to 1990 there was a delegation to the SPD parliamentary group in the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament . Lieber then worked as an employee for the parliamentary group of the SPD Brandenburg , then in the Ministry of the Interior , among other things as office manager of the then Interior Minister Alwin Ziel ( SPD ), as managing director of the interior ministers' conference , head of the departments for communal affairs as well as constitutional and administrative law. He then headed the Brandenburg Constitutional Protection Department . After the state elections in Brandenburg in 1999 , he was put into temporary retirement as a political official and then worked for the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Ministry of Social Affairs under Helmut Holter ( PDS ). From 2000 to 2007, Lieber worked as a lawyer. From 2007 to 2011 he was State Secretary of Justice for the State of Berlin .

Lieber has been working as a lawyer again since January 2012. He is also a lecturer at the Berlin School of Economics and Law .

Commitment to honorary judges

Hasso Lieber was chairman of the Federal Association of Honorary Judges from 1993 to 2017. He is the editor of the DVS member magazine " Judges without Robe". He was also President of the European Network of Associations of Lay Judges .

SPD

Better to be a member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). He represented Thilo Sarrazin in his first SPD party exclusion proceedings .
