House Ickern

House Ickern was a noble residence in the Ickern district of Castrop-Rauxel in North Rhine-Westphalia .

House Ickern came into the possession of the von Düngelen family in the 14th century . It was previously owned by the von Ickern family. The house came to the Counts of Dortmund from the Lindenhorst family through marriage. They had their residence there from 1420. Robert Stael von Holstein inherited the house from his half-sister Katharina von Lindenhorst († 1534). Once again by marriage, Ickern passed to the von Bodelschwingh family .

After further changes of ownership, the house came to Ludwig von Vincke in 1810 , who lived there until 1813. His son Karl Gisbert Friedrich von Vincke was born in Ickern. In 1893, Karl Graf von Bodelschwingh-Plettenberg acquired Haus Ickern. In 1911 it was sold to the Lothringer Hüttenverein. On the night of August 6, 1944, the 17th century building was completely destroyed by a direct hit with an explosive bomb.
