House Hove (Bottrop)

Gatehouse Hove

Haus Hove is a former manor in the Vonderort district of Bottrop . It originated in the 13th century. The property had a double moat that was fed by the Kornbecke brook . The noble family died out with Otto von der Hove in 1737. The Steinhaus family has owned the facility since 1874. Before its reconstruction until 2004, the gatehouse from the 15th century was the oldest stone building in Alt-Bottrop. Today some loopholes still remind of the former defensive strength of the buildings.
