House of Castile
The House of Castile is the family of the Counts of Castile from the end of the 9th century to 1029. It is a relatively short-lived dynasty that gained independence from the Kingdom of León around 925 . With the death of Count Garcia II Sanchez in 1029, Castile went to the King of Navarre , who distributed his property among his sons and thus did not affect Castile's independence. The Lara family comes from a branch of the family .
