Hayno Focken (* 1905 in Lahr / Black Forest ; † 1968 ) was a German metal sculptor and silversmith .

Life

Hayno Focken completed an apprenticeship with Professor Karl Müller (1888–1972) at the design and art school at Burg Giebichenstein in Halle (Saale) , which was linked to the ideas of the German Werkbund and the Bauhaus . Focken, who was based in Lahr in Baden-Württemberg, mainly created sacred devices (e.g. candlesticks, altar crucifixes, measuring jugs , host vessels, bowls, etc.). Other works such as his silver coffee pot from 1949 are shown in the " streamlined " style of Art Déco .

In the early 1960s he created the main portal for the Protestant town church in Offenburg (based on a design by the Heidelberg artist Harry MacLean ) and in 1965 for the hospital church in Baden-Baden . In the early 1960s he made a replica of the Amphitrite figure on the roof of the water tower on Mannheim's Friedrichsplatz .
