Vallelonga is an Italian municipality in the province of Vibo Valentia in Calabria with 740 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).

Location and dates

Vallelonga is located 28 km east of Vibo Valentia on the Tyrrhenian side of the Serre . The neighboring municipalities are Filogaso , San Nicola da Crissa , Simbario , Torre di Ruggiero ( CZ ) and Vazzano .

Attractions

The pilgrimage church of Madonna del Monserrato is in the village . The church is a popular pilgrimage destination, especially on the second Sunday in July, the Marian festival. The origin of the church is unknown. The current church has existed since at least 1550. It has been renewed several times over the years. The facade is a baroque portal and is divided into three parts.
