Monterosso Calabro is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1622 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Vibo Valentia in Calabria . It is located about 20 kilometers east-northeast of Vibo Valentia and borders directly on the province of Catanzaro . Parts of the municipality in the middle of the Serre are in the Parco Naturale Regionale delle Serre . In the northwest, on the municipal boundary, is Lago Angitola .
