Acquaro is a southern Italian municipality with 2048 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Vibo Valentia in Calabria . The municipality is located about 22 kilometers south-southeast of Vibo Valentia and borders directly on the metropolitan city of Reggio Calabria . Acquaro lies partly in the Parco naturale regional delle Serre and is part of the Comunità Montana Dell'Alto Mesima .
