Filogaso (Greek: Philogassos ) is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1362 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Vibo Valentia in Calabria . The community is about eleven kilometers east of Vibo Valentia .

history

The founding date of Filogaso is unknown. Presumably it is a Greek settlement that was later taken over by the Romans . Coin finds from the 4th century BC BC to the 2nd century AD are of Roman origin.

In 1909 the community was badly damaged by an earthquake.
