Cessaniti is a southern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 3145 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Vibo Valentia in Calabria . The municipality is located about 6 kilometers west-southwest of Vibo Valentia .
history
The community was severely affected by the 1638 and 1894 earthquakes.
The municipality's previous railway connection - a stop joint with the neighboring municipality of Jonadi - on the narrow-gauge railway line Vibo Valentia- Mileto (950 mm) was closed in 1966.
