Hearts of Iron IV is a global strategy game released in 2016 and the fourth part of the Hearts of Iron series. Like its predecessors, it was developed and published by the Swedish company Paradox Interactive . This part of the Hearts of Iron series also deals with the Second World War . Accordingly, the game offers two scenarios that start in 1936 and 1939.

German censorship
If the game is bought in Germany , portraits of high-ranking figures from the Nazi state are blackened. In addition, the victory rune and the skulls on SS uniforms were censored. These measures are no longer necessary after the USK has repealed them . Interestingly enough , these censorships are not present in the Austrian version, although a similar law restricts Nazi symbolism .
