Heide Schwochow (* 1953 in Stralsund ) is a German screenwriter .

Life

Heide Schwochow grew up in Bergen on Rügen and studied education at the University of Leipzig . She then studied directing at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . From 1987 to 1989 she was an author and director in the radio drama / children's radio play department of the GDR radio . From 1990 to 1993 she studied journalism at the Hanover University of Music and Theater . She then worked as a freelance journalist. In addition, she was a lecturer at universities in Hanover, Göttingen and Leipzig. From 1996 to 2001 she was program director at the Leipzig university radio `` mephisto 97,6 '' . Together with her husband Rainer Schwochow, she wrote and staged several radio features and radio plays .

She made her debut as a screenwriter in 2006 with the children's film Marta and the Flying Grandfather , directed by her son Christian Schwochow . She also wrote the following films, November Child and The Invisible , with him. Together they were nominated for Best Screenplay at the 2009 German Film Awards.

Heide Schwochow is a member of the German Film Academy and has been on the board since 2016.
