Heidi Brunner

Heidi Brunner (born August 23, 1961 in Lucerne ) is a Swiss opera singer ( mezzo-soprano ).

Life

Training as a mezzo-soprano

Heidi Brunner studied singing, organ and conducting in Zurich, Lucerne and Basel.

After first appearances in Basel, Innsbruck and Biel, she was a permanent member of the Landestheater Dessau from 1993 to 1995 . After an engagement at the Komische Oper Berlin , Brunner was a member of the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Volksoper from 1996 to 1999 . At the Vienna Volksoper she sang a. a. in the new productions of La clemenza di Tito , La Cenerentola and Norma . She also took on the title role in La Périchole . After her debut as Rosina at the Vienna State Opera in January 1997, she could also be heard there as Idamante in Idomeneo , Zerlina in Don Giovanni and as Nicklausse in Hoffmann's Tales .

In 1998 Heidi Brunner made her debut in the new production of L'Orfeo at the Munich Festival and the Wiener Festwochen . In addition, she sang the role of Idamante at Wiener OsterKlang and in 2003 in the new production of Idomeneo as part of the KlangBogen Festival in the Theater an der Wien.

In addition to regular appearances at the Komische Oper and the Berlin State Opera, she has made guest appearances at the Bavarian State Opera , at the Salzburg Festival , at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona (including as Brangäne in Tristan and Isolde ), at the Meiningen Theater (Nancy in Martha ; most recently in March 2005 as Octavian in Der Rosenkavalier ) and at the Grand Théâtre de Genève .

Further appearances

In 2004/2005 Heidi Brunner appeared in the new production of Franz Schreker's opera Irrelohe and in the concert performance of Franz Schmidt's Notre Dame at the Vienna Volksoper. Concert performances by Mathis the painter in the Konzerthaus Vienna in 2005 and of expectation at the Komische Oper Berlin and in the Wiener Musikverein in 2006 followed.

Further role debuts followed in 2006 as Marie in Wozzeck at the Hamburg State Opera and as Vitellia in La clemenza di Tito at the Vienna Volksoper. There she took over the role of Marta in Tiefland from Eugen d'Albert in 2007 . In 2008 she made her debut in Seoul as Kundry in Parsifal by Richard Wagner . In 2009 she made her debut as Sieglinde in Die Walküre by Richard Wagner at the Hamburg State Opera.

Guest performances and CD recordings

Heidi Brunner is regularly active as a concert singer, u. a. in Milan, Rimini, Paris, Lyon, Zurich, Basel, Lisbon, Helsingborg, Munich, Duisburg as well as in the Wiener Konzerthaus and the Wiener Musikverein.

There are recordings by Così fan tutte , Don Giovanni and Le nozze di Figaro (Arte Nova) as well as a solo CD with the RSO Vienna . Les dialogues des carmélites a production by the Theater an der Wien and a live recording from the Vienna Konzerthaus of Zemlinsky's "A Florentine Tragedy"
