The residential building Heidt 14 and the directly adjacent Heidt Spritzenhaus or "Brandspritze zur Heidt" are listed buildings in the Bergisch city ​​of Wuppertal in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Location and description

The residential building and the syringe house are in the hamlet of Heidt in the south of Wuppertal near the city limits of Remscheid , near the Ronsdorf dam . They are located south-east of the center of the district and district of Ronsdorf in the Blutfinke residential area between the Heusiepen and Saalbach streams at an altitude of around 285 meters above sea ​​level .

The house "Heidt 14" is a two-story, slate- timbered house ( slate house ) with an attic that can be lived in. It was built around 1720 according to documents from the city of Wuppertal. The privately owned house has a gable roof covered with tiles with white painted gable and eaves beams. The lattice windows have continuously over white painted window frames and are on the ground floor of the front facade and on the rear facade with green shutters provided. The front door, which faces north in the middle of the house, has the same color combination.

The syringe house ( 51 ° 12 ′ 56.3 ″  N , 7 ° 11 ′ 6.6 ″  E ), which was built in 1867, is in the immediate vicinity . It is a simple, windowless building about the size of a garage and consists of unplastered, brown quarry stone masonry with a wooden entrance gate painted green.

Until the second half of the 1990s, it was used by the traditional Heidt fire brigade , which was founded in 1922, as a fire station and shelter for the hand pressure sprayer . After the then owner of the privately owned building had asserted his own usage claims and it has been used for other purposes since then, a new, simple wooden building for the equipment was built in 1996 by the volunteer fire brigade in the immediate vicinity.

Between two buildings, a powerful was horse chestnut ( Aesculus hippocastanum ), which as an excellent single-tree ( 51 ° 12 '56.3 "  N , 7 ° 11' 7.3"  O ) under number 9:01 "nature Memorial index number" in the list of natural monuments in Wuppertal was entered. In the summer of 2011, as part of the twice a year inspection by the environmental protection department of the city of Wuppertal, the infestation by the horse chestnut leaf miner and Pseudomonas was discovered. In November 2011, the 250–300 year old tree had to be felled due to continued decay.

Monument protection

The residential building "Heidt 14" was added to the list of monuments of the city of Wuppertal on June 13, 1985 as an architectural monument . The syringe house was entered on June 13, 1989. The residential buildings "Heidt 1, 2, 3, 5, and 10" and the Heidt elementary school are also under monument protection. Together with the old blacksmith's shop, which is not (yet) listed, and other half-timbered and slate houses, they form a unit that characterizes the Heidt townscape.
