Heike Beier (born December 9, 1983 in Berlin ) is a former German national volleyball player .
Career
Heike Beier began her career in the Dresdner SC youth team . In 1994 she moved to VC Olympia Pirna , where she played for many years. She won several German junior championship titles. During the 2000/01 season she was active at VC Olympia Berlin .
From 2001 she played for the women's team of the Dresdner SC and won the DVV Cup and the German runner-up title in her first season there . It wasn't until five years later that she won her next title, the 2007 German championship title . Winning the championship entitles the DSC to participate in the Challenge Cup , where Corina Ssuschke's team took third place.
With the German junior selection, Heike Beier took part in three European championships between 2000 and 2002, finishing in fifth, sixth and ninth place. In 2006/07 she made her debut in the senior national team under the new national coach Giovanni Guidetti . In summer 2007 she won the European Grand Prix qualification with the women's national team and finished sixth at the European Championships in Belgium and Luxembourg.
In 2008 Heike Beier switched to the Italian A2 series for Rebecchi Lupa Piacenza . A year later, she and her new team made it to the A1 series. In 2010 Heike Beier went to the Russian club Leningradka Saint Petersburg , but returned to Rebecchi Lupa Piacenza in January 2011. In the 2011/12 season she played for the Italian second division club Giaveno , with whom she was promoted to Serie A1. In 2012/13 she played for league rivals Pomì Casalmaggiore . In 2013, she took first place with the national team in the Europa League and became vice European champion . She then moved to the Polish league to Aluprof Bielsko-Biała and in 2015 to league rivals Budowlani Łódź . Beier ended her career in 2017.
Private
Beier lives in Dresden, studied sports science and works as a personal trainer.
