The house at Heiligegeiststraße 28 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located south of the historic Quedlinburg old town on the south side of Heiligegeiststraße. It is registered as a residential building in the Quedlinburg monument register. To the east is the listed building at Heiligegeiststrasse 27 , to the west by the house at Heiligegeiststrasse 29 .

Architecture and history

The two-storey half - timbered house was built in 1685 by the Quedlinburg master carpenter Martin Lange . An inscription on the house, M.MARTEN LANGE ZM, refers to it. The builder was master blacksmith Heinrich Renne. The half-timbered facade is decorated with a ship's throat , profiled filler wood and pyramid beam heads. In the period around 1780 a renovation took place in which the windows on the upper floor were enlarged. Around 1890 a shop in the style of historicism was added on the ground floor . The front door in the neo-renaissance style that was built at the same time is remarkable .
