The county house is a Grade II listed building in the town of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt . In the past it was the seat of the district administration of the district of Quedlinburg .

Architecture and history

The castle-like two-wing administration building was built in 1902 and was inaugurated on September 15, 1903. The design was in the style of historicism , so there are elements based on the Gothic and Renaissance . Particularly noteworthy are the tail gables above the risalits . There are also bay windows and tower tops. The structure of the facade is emphasized by the use of stone . The building and its roof design with hipped roofs are many-sided. Several extensions were made during the period of use. The design of the interior is partly preserved from the construction period.

At the beginning of the 1920s, the district building was depicted on a 50 pfennig emergency bank note from the city of Quedlinburg that was valid until January 1, 1923 .

In the early 1960s, the chairman of the district council , Apel, had a sandstone- made Prussian eagle above the entrance removed. After the political turning point in 1989 , the eagle was added again on May 11, 1994.

On September 5, 2011, the renovation and renovation of the building began, into which the Quedlinburg regional office of the municipal employment agency Jobcenter Landkreis Harz moved in November 2012. A total of € 6,950,800 is planned for the investment. First of all, the building is getting a new slate roof. The installation of an elevator is also planned. The client is the local employment agency Jobcenter Landkreis Harz . 120 Koba employees will then be employed in the building. The regional planning community is also housed in the district building.
