It is located southeast of the historic Quedlinburg old town in a corner at the intersection of Heiligegeiststraße, Pölkenstraße and Bahnhofstraße. In the Quedlinburg monument register it is registered as a residential and commercial building. The building, which is also listed, adjoins Heiligegeiststrasse 12 to the west.
Architecture and history
The design of the north facade of the house, which faces Heiligegeiststrasse, refers to the surrounding buildings that were built around 1850. From the neighboring house to the west, Heiligegeiststrasse 12, a photo studio inserted in the roof area also extends into the roof of the house at Heiligegeiststrasse 11. It is possible that the two properties have formed a unit in the past.
For a long time the restaurant on the Pölkentor with 50 seats was located on the ground floor of the house .
