The Heimbach is a left tributary of the Reichenbach in the Aschaffenburg district in the Bavarian Spessart .

Surname

The name Heimbach consists of the Middle High German words hagen (later Hain ), which means “little wood” and bach . The explanation arises from this "stream that flows through a wood". The Heimbach gave the place Heimbach its name. The nearby towns of Hemsbach and Heimbuchenthal also have the same name origin .

The Heimbach is not to be confused with the former name of the Reichenbach, which was also called Heimbach.
