Heinrich Dernburg
Heinrich Dernburg , (born March 3, 1829 in Mainz , † November 23, 1907 in Charlottenburg ), was a German lawyer , crown syndicate , politician and an important representative of pandect science .
Life
Dernburg studied in Giessen and Berlin and completed his habilitation in 1851 with his thesis On the Relationship of Hereditatis Petitio to Inheritance Singular Laws as a private lecturer in Heidelberg , where he co-founded the Critical Journal for All Legal Studies . In 1847 he became a member of the old Gießen fraternity Frankonia . In 1854 he became associate professor and a short time later full professor of law in Zurich . In 1862 he received a call to the Martin Luther University in Halle-Wittenberg . In 1866 he came to the Prussian mansion as their representative , where he was active as a liberal politician and in 1873 was appointed a member for life. In April 1873 he was transferred to Adolf August Friedrich Rudorff's position as a pandectist at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität (today Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin ) in Berlin , where he taught Roman law , Prussian and civil law . From 1884 to 1885 he was rector of the Friedrich Wilhelms University.
Heinrich Dernburg was buried in the Luisenfriedhof in Berlin-Westend .

Dernburg's brother Friedrich Dernburg was a national liberal politician and publicist, his son Bernhard Dernburg a banker and politician.
Honor
In honor were 1905 in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf the Dernburgstraße and Dernburgstraße place named (since 1947 part of the Dernburgstraße).
