Heinrich Herold

Heinrich Herold (born April 3, 1900 in Greding , † March 24, 1984 in Greding) was a German manager.

Life

Herold was born as the son of the notarial accountant Heinrich Herold and his wife Mathilde, geb. Kraus, born. Between 1906 and 1910 he attended primary school in Greding and then secondary school in Eichstätt . He performed his auxiliary service between April 1, 1917 and October 7, 1917 as a temporary worker at the 4th Replacement Machine Gun Company in Ingolstadt and continued auxiliary service until June 15, 1918 as a chemist in the royal main laboratory in Ingolstadt. He examined metals and alloys . During the war path he was to November 1918, the Front for the training at the reserve battalion of the 10th Infantry - Regiment moved in. During this time he came to Grafenwöhr for the melee middle course and for an advanced training course in Nuremberg .

Between December 3, 1918 and December 2, 1919, he did a commercial apprenticeship at the central agricultural cooperative in Regensburg . Between 24 April and 31 May 1919, he was a volunteer of the 1st Company of the Freikorps Regensburg to overthrow the Communist uprising. From December 3, 1919 to March 31, 1921 he was a bank clerk at the central agricultural cooperative. At the same time he completed the winter semesters 1919/20 and 1920/21 of the commercial college course.

From April 1921 to March 1922 he was a correspondent for Dresdner Bank in Frankfurt am Main . At the same time he was small matrikel for two semesters studying economics and social sciences at the University of Frankfurt am Main enrolled . From April 1922 to December 12th he worked for the Deutsche Überseeische Bank in Berlin . He was then until June 30, 1927 secretary at the Banco Aleman Transaltantico in Madrid and until March 15, 1929 authorized signatory in the import and export business of Guillermo Speckenbach in Madrid. On 16 March 1929 he was representative of the Madrid branch of the photo Agfa Aktiengesellschaft and on 16 October 1929 in the center of Barcelona added.

On May 3, 1930 he married Miss Concepió'n Gippini Guramenta from Madrid.

In 1931 he was appointed authorized signatory of Agfa Foto Aktiengesellschaft and in autumn 1936 he was appointed managing director on the management board of Agfa Foto Aktiengesellschaft. Eventually he became President of the Board of Directors of the Agfa Photo Society.

On August 7, 1964, Heinrich Herold was offered honorary citizenship by his home town of Greding for his generous donations. On November 9, 1965, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class. The large stone fountain on the market square in Greding is a donation from Heinrich Herold, which was inaugurated on August 22, 1965. Outside the southern city wall he had the Heinrich-Herold-Anlage, a small park with a large playground, built. He had a foundation set up for the benefit of the residents of the Greding retirement home. Another foundation by Heinrich Herold gives every citizen of Gredingen over 65 years of age a snack at the Gredinger Volksfest. His wife Conception Leonor Herold donated a city fountain in front of the Hotel Schuster in 1969.

After the death of his wife he returned to Greding. He died in 1984 in the Gredingen nursing home and was buried in the family grave in the Gredingen cemetery.

Honors

In the Kaisinger settlement under the Galgenberg, Heinrich-Herold-Strasse was named after him.
