Heinrich Jordt
Heinrich Jordt (born December 15, 1917 in Nienburg / Weser ; † July 27, 1987 ) was a German rear admiral in the People's Navy . He commanded the 6th Coastal Border Brigade from 1962 to 1963 and from 1964 to 1979 .
Life
As the son of a gardener, Jordt trained as a blacksmith after finishing school . He served first in the Reich Labor Service from 1936 and then from 1937 to 1945 as a professional sergeant in the Navy , including on the M 1 minesweeper . At the end of the Second World War he held the rank of chief mate.
On August 1, 1945, he joined the German People's Police and was patrol officer in the Freiberg VP district office . In 1946 he became a member of the SED . After graduating from the Dresden State Police School, he was head of the protective police at the Freiberg VP District Office in 1948/49. From 1949 to 1950 he attended a special course in the USSR . From 1951 he took over teaching duties with the People's Police See . He trained teams at the Parow Seepolizeischule and officers at the Seepolizei Officers' School in Stralsund . On December 5, 1952, a submarine training institute (ULA) was set up in Sassnitz- Dwasieden under the designation Sonderprojekt S 7, of which he was the sole commanding officer. This project was canceled after June 17, 1953. From January 1, 1962 to 1979, he was in command of the 6th Coastal Border Brigade. This use was interrupted by a visit to the Friedrich Engels Military Academy from December 1963 to December 1964 in Dresden . On March 1, 1974, the anniversary of the founding of the NVA , Jordt was appointed Rear Admiral.
He was released into retirement on November 30, 1979.
