Heinrich Runte
Heinrich Runte (born March 27, 1909 in Schlebusch ; † March 2, 1978 in Frankfurt am Main ) was Lord Mayor of Ingolstadt from 1945 to 1946 .
In order to fill the post of mayor, the military government of the US-American zone of occupation in Germany appointed Heinrich Runte, an inmate of the local penal institution, to be mayor. The military government assumed that only those politically persecuted would be imprisoned. But Runte was actually a simple petty criminal.
