Heinrich Friedrich Emil Siedentopf (born March 5, 1938 in Leipzig ; † November 25, 2014 in Landau in the Palatinate ) was a German lawyer and administrative scientist.

Life

Heinrich Siedentopf is the middle of three sons from the marriage of the physician Heinrich Wilhelm Siedentopf (1901–1986) and Marie-Louise born. von Bodecker (1914-2006). He was married to Countess Elisabeth von Ballestrem (* 1947), a daughter of Count Franz Anton von Ballestrem (1912-1982) and Countess Maria Bertha von Schall-Riaucour (1916-1982), since 1973 . The sons Philipp (* 1975) and Johannes Siedentopf (* 1977) came from the marriage.

Siedentopf studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and the Westphalian Wilhelms-Universität . In 1957 he became a member of the Corps Vandalo-Guestphalia Heidelberg. He was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD . He then completed his studies at the École nationale d'administration in Paris. In 1971 he completed his habilitation. at the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer in the subjects of administrative science and public law . In 1973 he was offered a chair for comparative administrative science and public law at DHV Speyer. From 1983 to 1985 he was rector of DHV Speyer. From 1991 to 1993 and from 1997 he was the scientific representative of the Leadership College Speyer (FKS) and chairman of the Senate Committee for scientific further education. Together with Karl-Peter Sommermann , he had been the editor-in-chief of the specialist journal Public Administration since 1985 . For many years he was President of the German Section of the International Institute for Administrative Sciences (IIAS) in Brussels. Siedentopf was a visiting professor at the Law School of Singapore National University from 1982 to 1983 and 1988 to 1989 .

Heinrich Siedentopf was committed to German-French cooperation in the fields of administrative science. He worked on the collaboration between the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer and the École Nationale d'Administration (ENA) in Paris. He was responsible for numerous German-French administrative science conferences. In 2006 an honorary symposium was held for Heinrich Siedentopf by DHV Speyer and the German Research Institute for Public Administration (FÖV) on his retirement.
