Henry VI. von Walsee († September 13, 1398 ), from the ministerial family of the Walseer , follower of the Habsburg Duke Albrecht III. , was captain ob der Enns from 1374 to 1379 .

Life

After the (provincial) captain Count Ulrich von Schaunberg died in 1373, Duke Albrecht III transferred. this office in 1374 to Heinrich VI. from Walsee. Heinrich von Schaunberg, an ardent advocate of the rights of his house, saw himself being ignored, and the Schaunberger's relations with the Habsburgs and their captain ob der Enns were soon very tense. Another aspect was the growing alienation between the fraternal dukes Albrecht and Leopold III. von Habsburg , whereby the Schaunbergers sought and found support from Duke Leopold.

Henry VI. was always active in the interests of the Habsburgs against the Schaunbergers. Heinrich was also involved in the negotiations in Passau on August 28, 1376, through which Duke Albrecht secured the support of the Bavarian Duke. In 1379, Attersee Castle and the Frankenberg Fortress came to Heinrich VI, who thereby also threatened the Schaunberg property in Attergau .

Even before the outbreak of the Schaunberger feud , Heinrich VI. replaced by his cousin Reinprecht II von Walsee as governor for unknown reasons. Reinprecht II fought successfully for the Habsburgs as part of the Schaunberg feud, so that the Schaunbergers finally had to recognize the fiefdom of the Habsburgs. Henry VI. but did not appear significantly after 1379. Around 1385 he was captain of Wiener Neustadt , later councilor to the dukes Albrecht III, Leopold IV and Wilhelm .
