Heinz-Hermann Schnabel
Heinz-Hermann Schnabel (born January 1, 1945 in Erbes-Büdesheim , Rhineland-Palatinate ) is a German politician. He was deputy parliamentary group leader of the CDU - Landtag parliamentary group Rhineland-Palatinate and from May 18, 2006 to May 17, 2016 vice-president of the state parliament.
Life
From 1955 to 1961 Schnabel attended a modern language and natural science high school in Alzey . Between 1961 and 1963 he attended a higher commercial vocational school in Mainz and then came to the Deutsche Bundespost as an inspector candidate from 1963 to 1966 . In 1965 he became a member of the CDU. In 1966 he passed the examination for the higher administrative service . Between 1966 and 1969, the graduate in administration (FH) worked at the telecommunications office and then until 1984 at the Bad Kreuznach post office in the personnel area and in property management.
From 1972 to 1984 he was a member of the Alzey-Land municipal council and from 1979 to 1984 and from 1999 to the 2014 local elections he was mayor of Erbes-Büdesheim. In 1979 he was a member of the Alzey-Worms district council . From 1984 to 1996, Schnabel was the first full-time alderman of the Alzey-Land community. In 1990 he was CDU district chairman in Alzey-Worms and the following year chairman of the CDU district parliamentary group. In 1994 Schnabel became the state chairman of the local government association . On May 20, 1996, he became a member of the state parliament and chairman of the THW -Helfervereinigung Rheinland-Pfalz. He was chairman of the supervisory board of Volksbank Alzey and has been chairman of the advisory board of Volksbank Alzey-Worms since 2013.
Schnabel was Vice President of the 15th and 16th legislative periods of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from May 18, 2006 until he left the state parliament on May 17, 2016. He is married, Roman Catholic and has one daughter.
