Heinz Feuerborn (born May 16, 1930 in Hemer , Iserlohn district ; † September 1, 2018 in Bonn-Bad Godesberg ) was a painter and sculptor from Bonn .

Life

Heinz Feuerborn was the eldest son of the master tailor and furrier Wilhelm Feuerborn, who died as a soldier in 1941, and his wife Elisabeth. He attended elementary school in Hemer until 1944, then completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer and the vocational school in Iserlohn . This was followed by training as a draftsman until 1950 and attending the Hagen engineering school until 1951 .

From 1952 Heinz Feuerborn studied at the German Sport University in Cologne and graduated in 1955 as a certified sports teacher. In the meantime he became West German champion in the decathlon in 1954 and also held the German university record in this discipline.

After completing his studies, Heinz Feuerborn became a trainer in the athletics department of Bayer 04 Leverkusen and from 1956 a physical education teacher, since 1957 at the Beethoven grammar school in Bonn, where he also worked as an art teacher from 1964.

In 1960, Heinz Feuerborn married the general practitioner Dr. Margreth Sondermann. In 1993 he took his professional retirement. He lived and worked in Muffendorf , Bonn-Bad Godesberg , until his death .

Artistic work

In 1961, Heinz Feuerborn began his artistic training at the Cologne factory schools and at the Cologne factory teacher seminar and passed his exams there in 1964. At this time he created numerous sculptural works with different materials and techniques, in particular cast bronze sculptures and Ytong sculptures . He mainly depicted animals and people as well as groups of sculptures in the transition from realistic to abstract depiction.

The beginning of his painterly work can also be dated back to the 1960s, which mainly includes watercolor and ink drawings and works oil on canvas . In the 1970s he had a formative collaboration with the painter and sculptor Fritz Petsch from Bad Godesberg-Muffendorf.
