Heinz Fiukowski

Heinz Fiukowski (* 16th July 1929 in Schivelbein , Pomerania , † 20th January 2020 in Leipzig ) was a German speaking scientists and speakers puller .

After graduating from high school in Halle (Saale) , Fiukowski studied German and speech at the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg until 1952 . a. with Richard Wittsack . From 1953 he taught as a lecturer for speech at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig . In the following years he built up the science of speech science at the University of Leipzig, which was expanded to include the areas of rhetoric and poetry (previously parts of German studies), and which he headed until 1994. Fiukowski received his doctorate in 1968 from the Leipzig Faculty of Philology. When he left the service in 1994, the university honored him with the appointment of an associate professor .

In addition to his university activities, Fiukowski appeared as a poetry reciter. He worked with speaker groups from the Louis-Fürnberg-Ensemble and the dance studio of the Deutsche Post (today Leipziger Tanztheater ), with cabaret artists from the Academixer and Leipziger Pfeffermühle as well as with actors from the Dresden State Theater . He also trained rhetoric lecturers for the Urania Society . Between 1958 and 1967 he published reviews and articles on cultural topics in the Leipziger Volkszeitung .

Fiukowski's Speech-Educational Elementary Book is a standard work in his field. It appeared in eight editions from 1967 to 2010 and at the time of his death was the best-selling book by a speech scholar in German-speaking countries. By 1993, the bibliography of German-speaking speech studies and speech training recorded a total of 35 scientific publications by Fiukowski.
