Heinz Klemm (writer)

Heinz Klemm (born January 17, 1915 in Zwickau , † August 28, 1970 in Räckelwitz ) was a German journalist , editor and writer .

Life

Klemm came from petty bourgeois circles. He attended grammar school in Dresden and graduated from high school in 1934 . On June 1, 1934, he became a member of the NSDAP . He learned the profession of banker and began to study economics in Leipzig . In 1939 he was drafted into military service and was taken prisoner by the Soviets . He attended the Antifa school in Krasnodar .

After returning to Germany, he joined the SED and worked as a journalist for various newspapers and as an editor at Sachsenverlag Dresden . From 1951 to 1957 he was editor-in-chief at Sachsenverlag, after which he worked as a freelance writer. At times, Klemm was chairman of the German Writers' Association in the Dresden district .

Coming from journalism, Klemm wrote mostly literary reports on domestic and foreign travel impressions. He also wrote illustrated books and books for children and young people.
