Heinz Malangré

Heinrich "Heinz" Malangré (born July 25, 1930 in Aachen ; † September 12, 2017 there ) was a German manager and publisher .

Heinz Malangré came from the originally Walloon family Malangré. His great-grandfather, Augustin Josef Malangré (* 1829 in Haine-Saint-Pierre , † 1876 in Stolberg) was a machinist and entrepreneur in the Stolberg glass industry. His brother was the former mayor of Aachen, Kurt Malangré .

Malangré had been married to Thesi Wolf since 1955. The marriage had four daughters, including the musical singer Nicole Malangré and Susanne Malangré, who married the politician Armin Laschet . Heinz Malangré died in Aachen in September 2017 at the age of 87.

Life

After graduating from high school, Malangré studied law and business administration in Cologne and Bonn at the Kaiser-Karls-Gymnasium . After his law degree, he worked as an auditor and was 1956 in Bonn at Hellmuth von Weber with his dissertation Penalties Aachen dishes in Empire Urban time for Dr. iur. PhD.

He had been working for Vereinigte Glaswerke (VEGLA) since 1954 and was later director of the Vereinigte Glaswerke in Aachen (the German group of the Compagnie de Saint-Gobain ). After various functions at Saint-Gobain Glass Germany , he finally became managing director, finance director and director of economic policy. In 1984 he left Saint-Gobain to become managing partner of the EINHARD publishing house in Aachen.

In addition to his professional obligations, Malangré took on numerous public honorary positions. From 1981 to 1997 he was President of the Aachen Chamber of Commerce and Industry and member of the board of the DIHT German Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as President of the IHK'n associations in North Rhine-Westphalia. He was President of the German-Belgian-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce , the Federal Association of the German Glass Industry and Chairman and later Honorary Chairman of the Board of Directors of TÜV Rheinland . He was a member of the supervisory board of the Stadtsparkasse Aachen.

In addition, Heinz Malangré appeared as a publisher and author of several books, most of which deal with local historical topics and result from his memoirs. Malangré's passion for literature also meant that in 1987 he was one of the co-founders of the non-profit association Ars Scribendi , which promotes literature and the art of writing and is one of the largest calligraphy associations in Germany.

As a devout Catholic, Malangré also took on various honorary positions in the diocese of Aachen . Among other things, he held the office of chairman of the diocesan council, was particularly involved in building up the parish of St. Aposteln in Aachen-Burtscheid and was for many years the syndic of the Catholic Marienhospital Aachen .

Heinz Malangré was involved in numerous social projects in the Holy Land . In 1974 he was appointed Knight of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher by Cardinal Grand Master Maximilien Cardinal de Fürstenberg and invested in the Papal Lay Order on May 4, 1974 by Lorenz Cardinal Jaeger , Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy ; at last he held the rank of Grand Crusader.
