Heinz Schröder (born April 24, 1928 in Berlin ; † April 22, 2009 in Rüdersdorf near Berlin ) was a German puppeteer whose figures became very popular, especially with children.

Schröder was a trained technical draftsman. After 1945 he worked for the Berlin magistrate and later in the district leadership of the FDJ . From 1953 he played in the then newly founded puppet theater of the Berlin pioneering republic "Ernst Thälmann" on the Wuhlheide . From 1957 he worked as a puppeteer in the children's program on television in the GDR .

He also appeared as a forester Grünrock himself in early episodes . He also took over the puppet leadership of the cat Casimir in the puppet series Das Spielhaus , but did not lend him the voice. On October 3, 1969, Heinz Schröder received the National Prize of the GDR III as a member of the collective "Abendgruß des Kinderfernsehens" (with Gerhard Behrendt , Wolfgang Richter , Friedgard kurz , Harald Serowski and Heinz Fülfe) . Heinz Schröder was married and last lived in Schöneiche near Berlin . He died on April 22, 2009, two days before his 81st birthday. The day before, on April 21, he was diagnosed with a tumor in his spine. The painter Joachim Tilsch designed the three most prominent Schöneich entertainment artists in a picture with the title “Schöneicher Breakfast” for the central local shopping center, along with Helga Hahnemann and Otto Häuser, as well as Heinz Schröder.
