Heinzgerd Brakmann
Heinzgerd Brakmann (born January 29, 1944 in Rhede ) is a German theologian .
Life
After studying at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and in Paris , he worked from 1969 to 1976 as a research assistant at the chair for liturgical science at the University of Bonn and from 1976 to 2009 at the Franz Joseph Dölger Institute at the University of Bonn, there from 1995 to 2009 as director representative. From 1983 to 2003 he had a teaching position from the Bishop of Trier for liturgical science at the St. Lambert Study House . Since 1995 he has been a lecturer in Eastern Church Studies at the Jerusalem Theological Academic Year . After his habilitation in 2001 for liturgical studies and Eastern Church Studies, he was appointed private lecturer at the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Bonn.
Heinzgerd Brakmann is a permanent employee of the journal Archiv für Liturgiewwissenschaft , specialist advisor for Oriental Christianity at the Lexicon for Theology and Church and was head of the “Liturgy” section of the International Coptologists Congress in Louvain-la-Neuve (1988), Washington, DC (1992), Münster (1996), Leiden (2000), Paris (2004) and Rome (2012). He is co-editor of the Real Lexicon for Antiquity and Christianity , the "Jerusalem Theological Forum" and the "Semaines d'etudes liturgiques Saint-Serge", scientific advisory board for Eastern Church Studies , Editorial Board Member of the "Claremont Coptic Encyclopedia" and member of the section for the publication of the archive for liturgical science at the Abt-Herwegen Institute ( Maria Laach ). Since 2010 he has been a member of the board of the international Society of Oriental Liturgies and since 2011 a senior member of the Graduate School for the Humanities Göttingen.
Heinzgerd Brakmann's main areas of research and interests are worship and the history of the early church patriarchates and Catholics , western liturgical reforms of the 16th and 20th centuries and the present day Christianity of Eastern tradition in the homeland and diaspora.
