Helene Migerka

Helene Migerka (born September 13, 1867 in Brno , † March 26, 1928 in Graz ) was an Austrian writer and belonged to the women's movement .

Life

Helene Migerka, daughter of the skilled tradesman Franz Migerka and the social worker and writer Katharina Migerka , lived in Graz from 1915 with her mother and sister . After her mother's death, she fell into melancholy and died of suicide.

Work and action

Helene Migerka campaigned for equal rights for women in the Vienna women's movement. For many years she was on the board of the association of writers and artists in Vienna and was involved in the development of the association "Wit" of federal civil servants' widows and orphans in Graz and in the "Aktion Fest der Treue" to honor old housemaids. She wrote satirical poems and feature articles for the future , Universum , Berlin Latest News , Frauenleben , Dioscuren , Allgemeine Kunst-Chronik and others.
