Helga Hofer

Helga Hofer (* 1955 in St. Florian am Inn ) is an Austrian textile artist , painter and author.

Live and act

Hofer was married to the teacher , writer and art connoisseur Franz Xaver Hofer until his death in 2012 and is the mother of three children. She has been artistically active since the early 1980s. After producing textile work, she turned to oil painting in the mid-1990s . She is self-taught as an artist , but has always dealt with art and acquired fundamental knowledge about art and culture.

Exhibitions (selection)

The artist presents her works mainly in private Austrian galleries. Occasional works could be seen in solo exhibitions in public houses:

Galerie Elfie Bohrer showed works by Hofer in 2010 at the Zurich art fair and the Rytmogram gallery in 2008 as part of the Upper Austrian State Exhibition in the Salzkammergut.
