Franz Xaver Hofer

Franz Xaver Hofer (born November 24, 1942 in Niederwaldkirchen ; † July 9, 2012 in Rainbach im Innkreis ) was an Austrian writer and art connoisseur.

Live and act

Hofer spent his childhood on a farm in Mühlviertel , graduated from high school in Schlierbach Abbey and completed his teacher training in Klagenfurt . From 1966 to 2000 he worked as a teacher. He was a member of the IG Authors Authors and the Graz Authors Authors Assembly .

As a writer, he wrote prose stories , essays , poetry , dramas, and screenplays . He was an author and later also a member of the editorial board of the Upper Austrian literary magazine Die Rampe , in 1980 he and others founded the cultural magazine Landstrich, based in Brunnenthal , where he worked as an editor until his death. From 1998 Hofer and his wife were members of the association, which did a great job renovating Margret Bilger and Hans Joachim Breustedt's home and studio in Taufkirchen an der Pram .

He was married to the painter Helga Hofer from 1972 , had three children and lived in Rainbach from 1976 until his death.
