Helga Kuhlmann

Helga Kuhlmann (born June 20, 1957 in Hagen ) is a German professor of systematic theology and ecumenism at the University of Paderborn . She became known through numerous publications and lectures on systematic-theological questions, as well as the editor of the Bible in fair language .

Life and focus of work

From 1977 to 1984 Helga Kuhlmann studied Protestant theology and education at the Ruhr University in Bochum , the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster and the Philipps University in Marburg . After the first theological exam in 1984 at the Evangelical Church of Westphalia , she was granted a doctoral scholarship from 1985 to 1986 by the Hessian State Graduate Fund. From 1986 to 1990 Helga Kuhlmann was a lecturer in Protestant theology at the college for social education, curative education and diakonia in Hephata / Treysa. She then worked from 1990 to 1992 as a research assistant in the Protestant Theology department, social ethics department at the University of Marburg. In 1992 she received her doctorate at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg with a thesis on the theological ethics of Albrecht Ritschl and worked as a research assistant at the theological faculty in Heidelberg in the field of systematic theology and ethics until 1995. Since 1998 she has held the chair for systematic theology and ecumenism in Protestant theology at the University of Paderborn .

Helga Kuhlmann is a member of the Chamber of theology of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD), chairman of the German section of the European Society for Theological Research of Women, chairman of the Textbooks Committee of the churches in North Rhine-Westphalia, chairman of the jury of the Hanna-Jursch price of EKD and 2nd chairwoman of the board of trustees of the Evangelical Central Office for Weltanschauung questions . Her main research interests are: theology and religion in modern times; Theological ethics, especially health and medical ethics; Ecumenical theology; Theological gender research; Relationship between body and spirit; Theology and Philosophy in Conversation; Theology Dorothee Sölles ; Conversation between religions.
