history

The village of Helmsgrün was first mentioned in 1500.

Farmers have always cultivated the local area and have always been active in forestry. After reunification, a resettler took over a large part of the area. The other farmers joined the agricultural association in Neundorf. Helmsgrün is about 660 m above sea level.
