Geography and geology
Lichtenbrunn is a long village on the Sieglitzbach. The district lies on a plateau of the southeast Thuringian slate mountains . These soils are productive and safe due to the high proportion of fine soil and high humus content. The hills around the district are wooded. The place can be reached via a local road.
Neighboring towns are south Schlegel , west Neundorf , north Bad Lobenstein and east Harra .
With the line 640 of the transport company KomBus , Lichtenbrunn has a connection to the core city Bad Lobenstein and from there to the cities Schleiz , Naila (line 620) and Ziegenrück (line 620).
history
Lichtenbrunn was first mentioned in 1500. Old field names indicate a Sorbian origin.
There was a manor in the village, which was later dissolved and divided into several farms. In 1870 there were 72 buildings in the village, including a school built in 1838, and 469 residents in 105 families lived in the village.
In the course of the land reform in the Soviet occupation zone from 1945 , the land was distributed to 18 landowners, including 45.35 hectares of princely forest. On August 22, 1958, seven local farmers were forced to join forces to form a cooperative.
In 1993 Lichtenbrunn was incorporated into Lobenstein.
