Neundorf is a district of the municipality of Rosenthal am Rennsteig in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

Neundorf and the district are located southwest of the city of Bad Lobenstein on Landesstraße 1095 in the direction of Titschendorf . The corridor is surrounded by forests of the southeast Thuringian slate mountains with transition to the Franconian Forest .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1500 as Nawndorf .
Since June 18, 1994, the municipality of Neundorf has belonged to the Saale-Rennsteig administrative community . As part of the Thuringia regional reform in 2018 and 2019 , the administrative community was dissolved on January 1, 2019, the member communities merged to form the community of Rosenthal am Rennsteig .

Culture and sights
- Two grave monuments in the cemetery commemorate prisoners from the external concentration camp "Laura" who had to do forced labor there.
- Between Neundorf and Titschendorf, Count Reuss zu Lobenstein built a hunting lodge about four kilometers southwest of Neundorf in the 18th century . The facility was built in the pavilion system on terraces with kitchen and stable buildings. Seven houses were demolished for a new main house in 1782/83. The Count called this new system Solitude . Extensions were built in the 19th century. Nothing has been preserved from the system.
