Hellmuth Helsig
Hellmuth Helsig (born July 24, 1902 in Halle (Saale) , † October 22, 1958 in Agra near Lugano, Switzerland) was a German film actor .
Life
Between 1940 and 1950 he worked as a supporting actor in at least 24 films under various directors. Apart from two anti- British propaganda films - the attack on Baku and Germanin , in which he portrayed English people - these are entertainment films that were intended to distract viewers from the reality of World War II during the Nazi era and today - with the exception of We Make Music with Ilse Werner - should be largely unknown.
In the post-war years, Helsig only had five engagements, including two films that described the post-war situation in Germany: ... and above us the sky from 1947 with Hans Albers - the first film to be shot in the American zone of occupation after the war - and Our daily bread of the East German DEFA from 1949.
