Hency Martínez Vargas
Hency Martínez Vargas (born February 24, 1958 in Málaga , Departamento de Santander , Colombia ) is a Colombian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of La Dorada-Guaduas .
Life
Hency Martínez Vargas received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Bucaramanga on June 10, 1985 . With the establishment of the diocese of Málaga-Soatá on July 7, 1987, he was incardinated in its clergy .
On January 13, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of La Dorada-Guaduas. The Apostolic Nuncio in Colombia, Archbishop Luis Mariano Montemayor , donated to him on 21 March of the same year in the Cathedral of Malaga , the episcopal ordination . Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Málaga-Soatá, José Libardo Garcés Monsalve , and the Archbishop of Bogotá , Rubén Cardinal Salazar Gómez .
