The Hengeberg is 316  m above sea level. NN the highest point in the Gütersloh district . It belongs to the main ridge of the Teutoburg Forest and is located southwest of Werther (Westphalia) . The municipal boundary between Werther and Halle (Westphalia) runs on the ridge of the mountain . The Werther Schanze , a ground monument , is located on the mountain.

Weser-Ems watershed

Part of the Weser-Ems watershed runs over the Hengeberg . All rivers that arise on this mountain and flow south, sooner or later flow into the Ems . The streams and rivers that flow northwards flow into the Weser at some point . The largest flowing water at Hengeberg is the Schwarzbach, which flows into the Aa near Bielefeld .
