Henning Grunwald
Henning Grunwald , actually Hans-Henning Glade (born January 9, 1942 in Bremen ; † July 3, 2009 in Bremen), was a German writer and author of novels , essays and poems .
biography
Grunwald graduated from the old grammar school in Bremen. He studied literature , philosophy and art history .
Grunwald was sponsored by Adolf Muschg . He first wrote reviews and essays, for example on the structuralist method in literary studies and linguistic escapism. Between 1974 and 1981 he regularly published manuscripts in Alfred Kolleritsch's literary magazine , where his novel “The Rotary Cage” appeared in 7 sequels from 1974 to 1976.
In 1982 the magazine Die Neue Bücherei described his poetry as follows:
"The effect of G [runwald] s poems results mainly from the discrepancy between a relaxed vulgar language and their very serious concerns: the perpetual threat to humans from time and environmental factors."
In 1980 Grunwald took part in the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition in Klagenfurt . In 1983 he received the literary advancement award for the Berlin Art Prize .
He lived and worked first in and near Erlangen , later in the Schwachhausen district of his hometown Bremen. Grunwald, who suffered from a pronounced social phobia, has largely withdrawn from the literary scene and the public in the last few decades. In 2009 he died of heart failure.
