Henrik Høve Jørgensen (born October 10, 1961 in Copenhagen , † January 26, 2019 on Bornholm ) was a Danish athlete .

The long-distance runner was a total of ten times national champion and three times he set a national record over 5000 and 10,000 meters .

In 1983, Jørgensen set a national record as third in the London Marathon with 2:10:47 h and, as in the previous year, won the Copenhagen Marathon . In 1985 he finished second in the City - Pier - City Loop and fifth in the London Marathon, each with national records. In 1986 he won the Egmond Half Marathon and came second in the Berlin Marathon , in 1987 he won the Paderborn Easter run over 25 km, and in 1988 he celebrated his greatest triumph with victory in the London Marathon in 2:10:20 h.

Jørgensen took part in two Olympic marathons: at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, where he finished 19th, and the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, where he finished 22nd. Also in the marathon he was ninth at the World Athletics Championships in 1983 in Helsinki and ninth at the 1987 World Championships in Rome.

Jørgensen's daughter, Anna Holm Baumeister , is also a long-distance runner and took part in the 2016 Olympic Games.

Jørgensen died of a heart attack on January 26, 2019 during a training run.
