Henry Joseph Kennedy

Henry Joseph Kennedy (born February 18, 1915 in Rozelle , † September 2, 2003 ) was an Australian priest and Bishop of Armidale .

Life

The Coadjutor Archbishop of Sydney , Norman Thomas Gilroy , ordained him a priest on November 30, 1938 . Paul VI appointed him on September 14, 1967 auxiliary bishop in Brisbane and titular bishop of Simingi .

He was ordained episcopal by the Archbishop of Sydney, Norman Thomas Cardinal Gilroy, on November 23 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Patrick Mary O'Donnell , Archbishop of Brisbane , and James Patrick Carroll , Auxiliary Bishop of Sydney.

The Pope appointed him Bishop of Armidale on December 6, 1971 . On April 26, 1991, John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
