Enrico Marconi
Enrico Marconi , known in Poland as Henryk Marconi (born January 7, 1792 in Rome , † February 21, 1863 in Warsaw ), was an Italian- Polish architect who spent most of his life in Congress Poland .
Initially taught by his father Leandro , he studied between 1806 and 1810 at the University of Bologna and the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna . In 1822 he was commissioned by General Ludwik Michał Pac to complete his palace in Dowspuda . He moved to Warsaw, where he worked for the State Council from 1827 and where he became a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts.
Enrico Marconi married the daughter of General Pac's gardener, Małgorzata (Margaret) Heiton , who came from a Scottish family who moved to Poland. The couple's two sons, Leandro and Władysław Marconi , also became architects. The son Karol Antoni Marconi was a wall painter who worked in Warsaw.
