action

The plot revolves around an eccentric trio made up of a weirdly wacky but kind-hearted garage owner named Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, a cunning and cunning idler named Raju, and a simple and fighting poor named Shyam, who get caught up in crazy ripoffs.

The film begins with Shyam looking for a job at a bank. He finds out that the job was given to a girl named Anuradha Shivshankar Panikar, even though Shyam's father died in a fire in the bank. The manager tells Shyam that even though he knows the truth, he is unable to do anything for Shyam. Shyam goes upset and accidentally bumps Raju. Shyam thinks Raju is a pickpocket and starts chasing him. Finally Raju escapes undetected. Raju has his own worries that deal with his daydreams and unkind and disappointed people he works for. He doesn't seem able to keep a job and has money problems as a result.

Shyam then contacts a garage owner named Baburao Ganpatrao Apte and manages to get a rented room by getting Baburao drunk. Baburo doesn't know that Raju now lives in the same house for which he has not paid rent for two years. The trio comes into one cheerful situation after the other, in which Raju Shyam usually incites. Baburao, affectionately called Babu Bhaiyya, then has to solve this. During one such argument, Anuradha intervenes and tries to get Shyam to sign the no-objection certificate so that she can take the job at the bank. When Shyam refuses, Raju schemes to get Shyam to sign. Shyam eventually finds out that Raju made sure he signed. From this point on, the rivalry between Shayms and Rju starts. An old friend of Shyam, Khadak Singh, comes to Shyam's house and asks him to give him back his money so that he can marry his sister and afford the dowry.

Shyam finds out that Raju cheated on his mother by claiming to be an engineer. This creates an uncomfortable situation for Raju when he hypocritically calls his mother while he is drunk. Raju takes revenge by saying that he just wants to see his dying mother happy and nothing else. He would do anything for his mother. This is one of the most dramatic scenes in the film. Anuradha prepares to resign from her banking job and gives it to Shyam. He bursts into tears due to his mentally confused mother and debts that have to be paid.

The protagonists' lives take an unexpected turn when they get an unexpected call from Kabeera, which is due to a wrong phone number. Actually, the call would have been to the owner of the Star fisheries , Mr. Devi Prasad. The mix-up is due to a typographical error in the phone book; the telephone numbers of Sternfischerei and Sterngarage have been mixed up. Kabeera, a kidnapper terrorist, thinks he told Devi Prasad on the phone that he abducted his granddaughter and demands a ransom. Raju overhears the entire conversation between Kabeera and Shyam and decides to play a game.

Shyam is now said to appear as a kidnapper to Devi Prasad and demand double the amount of ransom. This will make their money problems go away. Shyam and Baburao initially reject the idea and try to go the honest way. But Raju convinces her that, while wrong, it is a golden chance to make money. Both give in and talk to the real Devi Prasad on the phone and ask for double the amount of ransom. Your first attempt is thwarted by the police. Kabeera then doubles his ransom demands. You call Devi Prasad again. This time they are asking for real double ransom.

In order to gain Devi Prasad's trust, they show their real identity and now try to save the girl from the kidnappers. But the girl recognizes Shyam as a fraud and Kabeera becomes cautious. A great fight that involves the police, Kabeera's band members and Khadak Singh's men begins. The delay in handing over the money also heats up the fight. The scenes are choreographed in a very amusing way, especially when Baburao, who loses his glasses, accidentally fires an AK-47 aimlessly around the area. The girl is saved by the three and returns to Devi Prasad. Baburao and Shyam go home happy and expect to find Raju with the money, but they don't find him. They call the police and it becomes clear that Raju was gone to hand over the money to the creditors.

In the end, Devi Prasad comes to the trio's aid and convinces the police that it was all a misunderstanding and saves the three. You go home richer than ever.

production

Hera Pheri was the first film that Priyadarshan made with Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty. He already worked with Paresh Rawal in Doli Saja Ke Rakhna. The film also marked the beginning of a long collaboration between Priyadarshan and the three actors.

After Hera Pheri , Priyadarshan made sure that either Kumar, Shetty, Rawal, or a combination of the three actors would star in his films. The only exceptions are Dhol, Billu, and Tezz.

Parts of the film were shot in Dubai and Hera Pheri 3 will also be shot there.

reception

The film did not open well but later recovered and became a box office hit, grossing Rs. 17,25,00,000 in India.
