Herbert Dorn (born August 12, 1920 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Dorn, from northern Germany Bad Oldesloe to arise and for the resident VfL Oldesloe as a striker playing came as compulsory military service of the Armed Forces into the Saarland . There he joined the FV Saarbrücken , for which he played in the Gauliga Westmark , in one of initially 16, later increased to 23 Gauligen at the time of National Socialism as a uniform top division in the German Empire . There he played a league game in the 1945/46 season. By the beginning of 1947 at the latest, Dorn was back at VfL Oldesloe, where he worked as a league player and youth coach at the same time.

He later returned to Saarland and worked as a coach in the lower-class area after successfully completing his soccer coaching exam in the spring of 1952; with the SpVgg Qui Various he entered the district class. In July 1952 he returned to 1. FC Saarbrücken and played his last three point games in the top division of the time in the 1952/53 season . Then he was still active for the lower-class clubs SV Preussen 1919 Merchweiler , from the municipality of the same name in the Neunkirchen district and the SC Viktoria 1912 Hühnerfeld , a district club of Sulzbach / Saar .
