Herbert Nowohradsky

Herbert Nowohradsky (born February 19, 1950 in Jedenspeigen ) is an Austrian main school director and politician ( ÖVP ). Nowohradsky was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament from 1993 and its 2nd president from 2008 to 2011.

Life

Nowohradsky attended grammar school in Gänserndorf after primary school and graduated from the Pedagogical Academy in Vienna- Strebersdorf after graduating from high school . After starting his career in 1972, he worked as a teacher in Hauskirchen , Neusiedl an der Zaya and Hohenau an der March , before he became the main school director of Hohenau an der March in 1984. From 1972 to 1980, Nowohradsky was politically active as district chairman of the Young People's Party in Zistersdorf and was elected district chairman of the association of community representatives in 1985. In 1980 he took over the office of mayor Palterndorf-Dobermannsdorf and represented the ÖVP in the Lower Austrian state parliament since June 7, 1993. Since April 10, 2008 Nowohradsky also held the office of 2nd President of the State Parliament. On April 28, 2011, he left the state parliament for reasons of age. His successor as the second president of the state parliament was Johann Heuras , who had been a state councilor in the state government of Pröll V until then .

In 2012 he was elected to succeed Edmund Freibauer as chairman of the Lower Austrian Seniors' Union.

He is married and has two children.
