Herbert Ossowski
Herbert Ossowski (born March 20, 1928 in Guttstadt / East Prussia , † December 6, 2010 in Münster ) was a German educator and author of books for young people .
Life
Ossowski first attended high school in Allenstein ; He made his Abitur at the Leopoldinum in Detmold . He studied at the Paderborn University of Education and then became a primary school teacher. In 1961 he became head of department in the Association for Education and Upbringing in Bonn, and later rector of a secondary school in Münster- Hiltrup . From 1978 onwards, Ossowski was the head of the study seminar for teaching at primary level and retired in 1992.
In 1976 Ossowski was one of the co-founders of the German Academy for Children's and Youth Literature eV in Volkach and was a member of the main jury for the German Youth Literature Prize for 12 years , including six years as chairman. He worked in numerous organizations, including the Reading Foundation .
